"AHA courses are much better than A level History of Art as a preparation for university work. Exposure to real paintings, sculpture and buildings develops visual alertness. Seeing art in the cities where it was made reveals how it was shaped by its cultural context. Students from AHA have been made aware of many of the problems and excitements of academic Art History before they begin their BA."

A word about Swine Flu
We have carried out additional risk assessment regarding swine flu. Where possible we are arranging additional rooms in each hotel in each city we visit to act as quarantine/ san should the need arise and tutors have access to antibacterial hand gel, tissues and face masks. We are asking all parents and students to make sure that they are aware of the goverment procedures for preventing the spread of swine flu and that on the day of a course departure should you or your child be displaying any of the symptoms of swine flu, not to come to the airport, but wait until you have a clean bill of health and join the course at a later date.

There are currently four confirmed cases of Swine Flu in Italy. We have confirmed the contact details of english speaking doctors within Venice, Florence, Perugia and Rome, and have re-confirmed the necessary procedures for emergency medical care in Verona & Naples. There have been no reported illnesses on either of the the Gap Year courses.

Presently there is one case of Swine Flu in Italy. We are keeping an eye on the news in Italy while noting advice from our own Foreign Office. We have also made sure our contacts to private doctors in Italy are sound. We have spoken to our lead tutors instructing them to look out symptoms of flu.
