"AHA courses are much better than A level History of Art as a preparation for university work. Exposure to real paintings, sculpture and buildings develops visual alertness. Seeing art in the cities where it was made reveals how it was shaped by its cultural context. Students from AHA have been made aware of many of the problems and excitements of academic Art History before they begin their BA."

Professor John Onians
The School of World Art Studies, University of East Anglia

Duty of care and YOG

Tutors oversee the smooth running of all other aspects of the course. Three tutors (a mix of male and female, at any one time) typically accompany a course of 30 students. All tutors speak Italian, most are fluent. All are friendly and approachable and they travel with the group and stay in the same hotel as students. We conduct all manner of risk assessments, which are available for review on request, and ask for feedback in a continuing effort to fine-tune the course.

All our tutors are background checked in accordance with the CRB Disclosure Scheme.

Year Out GroupAHA is a founder member of the Year Out Group, an association of leading UK organizations formed to promote the concept and benefits of well structured Year Out programmes.
