"I see the trip as a rite of passage; a fundamental part of my education. I returned wiser...[and feel much more confident going into an arts degree] ...with such an understanding and a love for the arts behind me. I have also made friends I will keep for life. The experience was unforgettable. I LOVED IT."

Dates and Fees

Half Term Family Courses to Italy

Our aim is to provide a wonderful holiday for you and your family in perhaps the greatest cities in the world. We will take away the stress of family travel and provide an atmosphere of enthusiastic learning which will be with you and your children for life.

DestinationDateAdultChild
Rome Mon 31st May – Fri 4th June 2010 £975 £675
Florence Mon 18th Oct – Fri 22nd Oct 2010 £TBC £TBC
Venice Mon 25th Oct – Friday 29th Oct 2010 £TBC £TBC

To include:

  • Organisation of a fun filled, stimulating 5 days (4 nights) in central Rome, Florence and Venice.
  • AHA will manage your time from the moment you step off the aeroplane.
  • We will transfer you to the city centre, settle you into your apartment or hotel.
  • Organisation of meals: Lunches (included) and supper (not included) in fun, genuine trattoria – you will not have to worry about where to eat or if you are getting value.
  • Throughout the day the party will be subdivided into smaller tutor groups by age: Adults, young children 5 – 9 and older children 10 – 16.
  • Maximum size of tutor group is 10. In terms of teaching this means all can see, hear and join in the inevitable discussions. The younger age group will have a tutor and a helper. In terms of child safety there is an enviable ratio of pupil to tutor.
  • Teaching: All will be taught by AHA’s superb and experienced tutors who know the cities intimately and have experience of teaching children.
  • Museum entrance fees are included within the fee. We have made account of the fee reductions we might achieve for minors and thus kept the overall fee as low as possible.
  • All transport connected with teaching is included within the fees.
  • Experience: Throughout your stay you can rely on the experience of AHA tutors to answer your queries from needing a doctor to wondering where to buy shoes. We are there to help.

Not included in the fees above:

  • Flights: AHA will suggest flights which we will then meet with transport into the city centre. This leaves you the opportunity to buy cheap flights online or use airmiles. In almost all cases, you will be able to source less expensive flights online than we could buy on you behalf. However, AHA can tell you the best flights available and we are always here to help.
  • Accommodation: AHA will find the accommodation that you require, either in a small apartment or a hotel. Both have their relative merits which we will happily discuss. Because we cannot know in advance the family requirements or ages of children, we will organise accommodation on a tailor-made basis. We will ask of you only the exact costs of any accommodation including any discounts we might achieve. Prices will start from £200 a head for the four nights, please contact us for an exact price tailor-made for your family.
  • Insurance: AHA does not include insurance because many have travel insurance through their bank account or household insurance.
  • Supper: Different families will want to manage supper in different ways. AHA will certainly suggest going out as a group for an earlyish supper – somewhere fun and good value. Otherwise, lunch is included in the fees. According to the type of accommodation you require, breakfast will be included in the hotel price but for those in an apartment, a quick nip down to a bar for a delicious cappuccino and a hot croissant might be the thing.
