"AHA courses are much better than A level History of Art as a preparation for university work. Exposure to real paintings, sculpture and buildings develops visual alertness. Seeing art in the cities where it was made reveals how it was shaped by its cultural context. Students from AHA have been made aware of many of the problems and excitements of academic Art History before they begin their BA."
Professor John Onians
The School of World Art Studies, University of East Anglia
What better way to spend the half-term holidays than to have someone else entertain your children while you have time to indulge yourself? Allow our tutors to introduce your young to the fascinating and fun world of art and culture while we reinvigorate your senses with grown-up conversations before remarkable paintings and places. Time will always be made for the all important calm cappuccinos in the piazza and maybe even a spot of shopping or a casual browse in the local markets.
The idea is to gather together a group of like-minded families and show them a new side of Italy. Our enthusiastic and experienced tutors will spend the days with the children telling stories of intriguing Roman myths, acting out the gruesome goings on at the Colosseum or learning how to negotiate a wobbly traghetto in Venice. The parents will spend the day with their own tutor discussing the merits of Bernini or learning the theology behind the Immaculate Conception. The groups will then meet up in the evening for a fabulous supper in a local trattoria to catch up on the day’s adventures. The tutors are on hand to organize evening activities such as concerts, opera and even football.
