"I am currently studying to be a solicitor in London. I would like to congratulate you on AHA's success. You really deserve it - my course is still one of the most fantastic things I have ever done."

For whom and when

This is the ideal course for school leavers, sixth formers and university students on their summer holidays who want to have a wonderful two weeks and do something interesting. It is extremely valuable for those who have left school and are off to study art history at university. It is also a fantastic opportunity for those who have not taken a gap year or forsook the arts and humanities for the sciences and languages.

Two-thirds of the students who come to us have not studied art history before. They join us because they appreciate that an enjoyment of art, architecture, sculpture and Italy is as important as an understanding of music or literature. Those who have studied the A’ Level will see much more than they have studied in class, however if you are about to take you’re AS or A2 exam this is an ideal time to supplement your course. The majority of the course is made up of British students taking a year out before going to University. We also see an increasing number of students from, amongst others, America, Australia, South Africa and Holland.

There are two summer courses each year in July and August. See dates and fees. The course is limited to 27 students. Tutorials are all on site, far away from turgid lecture halls. With an enthusiastic young expert you will be taught in groups of no more than ten students. Click here to see the sample itinerary.
