I enjoyed my first visit to Rome and being taught so eminently by Charlie, Nick and Grant. Your enthusiasm for the subject is infectious.

Hotels

We will stay at the Hotel Mansart.  This beautiful hotel combines the charm of an old Parisian residence with all the luxuries one would expect.  It is perfectly placed near the Place Vendôme and is within short walking distance of the Jardin Tuileries and the Galeries Lafayette if you want to slip off for a bit of shopping.

Eurostar

We recommend the following Eurostar trains:

15th March London St Pancras 9.22 - 12.47 Gare du Nord

19th March Gare du Nord 18.13 - 19.34 London St Pancras

Please note that the Eurostar is not included in the price and you will need to buy this separately.  At the time of writing, 9th June, prices have not yet been published but if you buy your tickets as soon as they are announced it should cost £69 return or you can travel first class for £189.

Transport

We will have a private coach to collect us from Gare du Nord to our hotel and again for the return journey.  We will also have a private coach for our day trip out of Paris, each leg will take around forty five minutes.  For all other days we will travel by both taxi and the metro as this is often the quickest method of transport in the city.

Tuition

Richard Stemp will lead the trip.  Richard knows Paris extremely well and is well versed in this period of art history.  Tutor groups will not exceed 12.

Cost

The fees are £1600 which include accommodation and breakfast, five good lunches, transfers for the recommended train, transport when connected with teaching, tuition in small groups of 12 or less, notes, reading lists and local advice.  Not included are the Eurostar costs, suppers, taxis in the evening unconnected with tuition and travel insurance.  There will be a single room supplement of £240.  Please state on the form if you would be happy to share.

We are aware that the fees for Paris are higher than for our other trips.  Paris is far more expensive than the cities we visit in Italy and we feel it is important to stay in a good hotel with an excellent location.  Likewise, lunches are an important part of the course and we do not want to cut corners!
