"Your enthusiasm for the arts and for life as a whole will be an inspiration to me for the rest of my life. AHA has helped me to realize where I want to go. You have given me a future I could have never conceived on my own. It changes lives for the better."
Tom Sutcliffe, Spring 2006
Why go with Art History Abroad?
On site study in small groups. All AHA programmes are about a real experience of art, together with expert tuition in small tutor groups of no more than nine. We visit the Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel out of hours and St Mark's in Venice in the evening when all the tourists have gone. We also visit the amazing and less obvious places like the Sacristy of Il Redentore in Venice where one is greeted by rows of pickled monks' heads.
Sensational Tutors. Our tutors are interested in your thoughts as well as their own. They wear their academic laurels lightly, are unstuffy, and have great sense of humopurs. They are deeply passionate about all things Italian and work tirelessly to ensure that the course is as educational as it is good fun. For a full listing of our tutors click here.
Beyond Art History. On your travels you will also visit many gardens, hear concerts, see operas and read Byron and Shelley whilst sipping local aperitivi. Some of AHA's tutors are artists who would be glad to help or encourage others. We have also compiled a lexicon of the music written for many of the buildings you will visit, forming an education in itself.
Accommodation and food. Our choice of hotels is about beauty and value rather than marble and fluffy towels. If you would like to share, or be prepared to share, the costs of hotels are less. Likewise, when eating, a trattoria is more fun and AHA tutors will happily organise a group supper at a favourite place.
