"I gained a passion and enthusiasm about art that has helped me decide where to head in life. what AHA provides is an infectious interest in self-education. AHA is a wonderful gap year option and far better than running off to Thailand or the like to 'find yourself' as so many people do."

Ella Hickson, Spring 2004

Six Week Courses in Italy

Why? Get the upper hand on culture, study in beautiful Italy and see the great masterpieces of art.

Who? Open to all, suited to those on a Gap Year, undergraduates or post university students

When?: August, November, January and April

Where? Travel through Venice, Verona, Florence, Siena, Rome and Naples.

Every year, Art History Abroad takes students aged around 18-25 to the great art centres of Italy where we show you painting, sculpture, architecture, history, and life.

We go to places like Florence, Venice, Verona, Siena, Rome and Naples - cities whose names breathe art.

Our tutors are young, unstuffy and expert, most of them Masters, who know how to make the obvious extraordinary and the unusual captivating.

We have been going for over 20 years and we've built up a reputation for giving our students not what they expect but more than they could ever dream of - including all sorts of astonishments like private visits to places like the Sistine Chapel and San Marco,Venice; as well as back streets where, for instance, Caravaggio lived and killed, and the little door in an old shop that leads, by a winding stair, up to an ‘undiscovered' masterpiece.

This is a voyage of discovery - six weeks that'll last you all your life. But don't just take our word for it. Almost all our new students come because they know someone who has been - and 99% of our old students say they would come with us on another course. Ask them if you like. We have a list of people who don't mind being grilled. Meanwhile, take a look at who we are and what we do, and decide what further questions you may have.
