"A big, big, big, BIG thank you for giving me the funniest, loveliest, most exciting, interesting, fabulous, magnificent, food-filled, wine-bursting six weeks that I've ever, ever had. I just can't believe we saw so much in so little time."
HR - AHA Alumni
Who joins?
This course is a natural extension to AHA's Northern Italy trip and indeed quite a number of do both courses over two summers or both in one go. There are discounts for this explained below.
For art historians, this course will expand beyond the usual cannon of art history to give the student a great depth of understanding and visual experience. For classicists, historians, or indeed, anyone who questions the 'need to know' culture, this course will do much to engender a cultivated mind.
The age range of our summer courses allows for those who are leaving the lower sixth as well as those who are at University.
An enquiring mind is all that we require you and, in return, what you will get is a chance to learn why Greek theatre is so great and ghastly in equal measure, about Roman daily life, the history of painting, the language of architecture, the liberal arts, the renaissance, the reformation and English Romantic poets.
