"AHA courses are much better than A level History of Art as a preparation for university work. Exposure to real paintings, sculpture and buildings develops visual alertness. Seeing art in the cities where it was made reveals how it was shaped by its cultural context. Students from AHA have been made aware of many of the problems and excitements of academic Art History before they begin their BA."
Professor John Onians
The School of World Art Studies, University of East Anglia

The Northern Italy Tour is a rare and special thing for a holiday. It is an eclectic combination of holiday, learning and travel which aims to give students an enlightening two weeks.
The course places the art, architecture and sculpture of Italy within the broader context of Western Civilization while opening the eyes of students to art. Within the two weeks students will have a taster of Italian lifestyle and will enjoy Italian food, wine and music in the balmy summer heat. You will spend 5 nights in Venice, 5 nights in Florence and 4 in Rome, with free time built into the programme in every city.
Students should drop any of the ideas they have about teachers versus students, as do all our tutors - this is not a 'school trip'. Our brilliant tutors are dynamic, enthusiastic experts from various academic fields. They roll back the disciplines of formal education and provide an inter-disciplinary approach that includes (to name a few) philosophy, history, theology and mythology.
Come and join us in Italy for two weeks down the peninsula with a well structured and fabulous programme of art, architecture and Italian fun.
