"I was not expecting to be with the eclectic mixture of individuals that shared this experience with me. I know I have made some friends for life. There is a magic in AHA tours that you never recapture. I have been inspired, encouraged and excited."

The Glories of Greenwich
Greenwich is a little known gem. Historically, politically and royally it is integral to the formation of London.
The old Tudor Palace, loved dearly by Henry VIII and Elizabeth I was replaced by the architecturally revolutionary Queen's House and the Old Hospital for Naval pensioners. After approaching Greenwich from the Thames we will see the works of Inigo Jones, Webb, Wren, Hawksmoor, James 'Athenian' Stuart, West and Thornhill. After lunch we will walk up to Wren's Observatory, set up to crack the Longitude problem. This was not achieved until 1759, when the revolutionary designs of John Harrison bought about the 1st sea-faring clock that saved thousands of lives.
