The Great Bronzino Exhibition 2011

                                               A Long weekend in Florence

                                                             Thursday 20th - Sunday 23rd January 2011

Every so often AHA comes across an unmissable exhibition, the like of which may well never happen again.  The last one was the Correggio show two years ago.  This trip will be short, focused, brilliant and fun.

Bronzino was a contemporary of Michelangelo, painting the Allegory of Love, (illustrated) which you may well know from the National Gallery.  Aside from sophisticated and occasionally alarming subject matter, he was also technically supreme, creating a paint surface which has rarely, if ever, been surpassed.
