Theatre Picasso
Lecture by Tina Corri
Tate Modern and Jerwood Space
Coffee · Lecture · Lunch · Exhibition
18th March 2026
Picasso’s art was shaped by his enduring interest in those who lived their lives on stage, from dancers to circus performers and matadors. Their shifting identities offered him a model for crafting his own public image as Picasso, the Artist.
Contemporary artist Wu Tsang has curated this exhibition, aiming to transform the space into Picasso’s own theatre. The exhibition features works never seen in the UK, as well as works from Tate’s own collection, including paintings, sculpture, textile and works on paper.
The lecture by Tina Corri will prepare you for the exhibition so that you can make the most of your time in the gallery and gain the greatest insight into the works. Please join us for lunch afterwards at the Tate Modern Restaurant and Bar.
