Henry Moore: Monumental Nature

Kew Gardens

with Joshua White

Guided Walk

13th August 2026

Having opened in early May, Kew Gardens is hosting the largest ever presentation of outdoor artworks by Henry Moore in their exhibition Henry Moore: Monumental Nature. This exhibition spans the gardens and the gallery, combining large-scale sculptures with the natural forms that they embody in the outdoor spaces, and smaller-scale sculptures, drawings, models and sketchbooks indoors in the Shirley Sherwood Gallery of Botanical Art. With 30 monumental sculptures throughout the gardens and more than 90 smaller works that are all reflective of Moore’s nearly 70-year career, the exhibition demonstrates the importance of nature in Moore’s work, and how installation works respond to and are informed by their surroundings.

Joshua White will guide us through the exhibition, “an immersive journey” that sheds light on Moore’s engagement with growth, inner and outer forms, animal and botanical life, and the expressive power of the natural world. We will have a break midway through the walk for coffee, and will then go for lunch together afterwards at the Pavilion Bar and Grill, which is situated in the middle of Kew’s scenic Arboretum.
